Vedic Numerology for Business: Planets, Numbers and Name Energy

Vedic numerology assigns each number from 1 to 9 a planetary ruler, then uses the traditional relationships between those planets to decide whether two numbers support each other. It is the layer that turns a business name's number into a compatibility reading.

Planetary friendship — the mechanism

Vedic tradition defines fixed relationships between planets: friendly, neutral or enemy. These decide compatibility.

The critical detail is that friendship is not always mutual. Mercury regards Venus as a friend, and Venus regards Mercury as a friend — mutual. But Sun regards Mercury as an enemy while Mercury regards Sun as an enemy too. Other pairs run one way only, which produces the one-sided relationships that show up in partner compatibility readings.

What this is used for

Name against owner. The main use. Compare the business name's single digit against the owner's Life Path number. Friendly means the name works with its owner; conflicting means persistent low-grade friction. Check yours.

Partner against partner. Both partners' Life Paths compared. Partner compatibility.

Supporting numbers. Phone numbers, GST numbers and addresses checked against the owner's number. Mobile · GST and address.

Planetary remedies

Each planet has traditional associations that practitioners use as remedies — colours, weekdays, directions and materials. In a business context these are applied to branding and scheduling rather than to ritual.

SunGold, orange, copperSunday
MoonWhite, silver, creamMonday
JupiterYellow, saffron, purpleThursday
RahuElectric blue, smoky greySaturday

Logo and colour numerology applies this to brand identity directly.

How Vedic relates to the other systems

Vedic numerology does not calculate the name — it interprets the result. It takes the single digit produced by a Chaldean calculation and maps it onto a planet, then reads the relationships.

That means it cannot be used alone. Chaldean produces the number; Vedic explains what the number does and who it agrees with. How the systems fit together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Vedic numerology the same as Indian numerology?

They are used interchangeably in most sources. Both refer to the planetary-ruler system used in Indian practice, usually applied on top of Chaldean letter values.

Why is Rahu assigned to number 4 when it is not a physical planet?

Rahu and Ketu are the lunar nodes rather than planets, but Vedic tradition treats them as planetary influences and assigns them to 4 and 7 respectively.

Do the planetary friendships work in both directions?

Not always. Several pairs are one-directional, which is what produces one-sided compatibility readings between business partners.

Can I use Vedic numerology without knowing astrology?

Yes. The numerological application uses only the number-to-planet mapping and the friendship table. No chart, birth time or astrological calculation is involved.
